Extract Table Data from Bank Statements
How to extract transactions and balances from bank and credit card statements.
Create a Bank Statement parser
Select Bank Statement as the document type when creating your parser. Default fields include:
- Account Number
- Account Holder
- Statement Period (From / To)
- Opening Balance
- Closing Balance
- Transactions table (Date, Description, Debit, Credit, Balance)
Extracting the transactions table
Bank statement transactions are extracted as a table. Go to Fields & Tables and ensure the Transactions table is configured. For statements where debit and credit are in the same column with a DR/CR suffix, add a field instruction: “Extract positive values for credits and negative values for debits.”
Multi-page statements
LumiParser handles multi-page PDFs automatically. For statements longer than 20 pages, enable Advanced Table Extraction in Parser Settings for the most accurate transaction capture.
